When the signer is unable to sign or write his/her name, the signer may sign the document by mark. The signer must properly identify himself or herself by satisfactory evidence and the Notary Public must obtain satisfactory evidence from the witnesses.
- Two witnesses must observe the person signing by mark
- One witness must write the signer’s name next to the mark
- Both witnesses must sign the document as witnesses
